Is Forbes richest man in the world linked to the cartels? Carlos Slim Helu is worth over 60 billion dollars. According to Forbes, Slim's source of wealth is "telecom and self-made". What exactly does self made mean? After researching Slim I found copious amounts of evidence that he is involved in the Cartels. Slim has long standing ties with wealthy businessmen associated with the cartels. Fernando Chico Parto, Slim's former right hand man, left Slim to take over ASUR, a public company accused of moving large quantities of cocaine through Cancun International Airport. Cancun International is one of twelve airports owned by ASUR. To say that Slim is not involved in Chico's drug correlations is absurd. Take into consideration that Mexico's largest industry is drug trafficking, and Slim grew up in poverty, "Self-made"screams drug cartel. In recent years Slim's value has grown drastically, correlating to the rise in cartel wars. As the evidence shows, Slim is involved with the cartels.
